• Engineers and facilities managers can use Visio to create electrical, mechanical, and process engineering schematics. Unlike CAD and other technical drawing programs, this product enables users to draft complex diagrams with little or no training.
• For developers, Visio Professional offers tools to create entity relationship diagrams for proposed database schemas, and map and troubleshoot existing Internet or intranet sites.

The 2007 version includes the ability to dynamically link external data to diagrams, display it graphically, and refresh it as needed; a number of sample data-driven diagrams are provided. Other additions are templates for PivotDiagram, Value Stream Map, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library diagrams.
